Quick question for the chrome heads. It was suggested to me by a friend to put regular wax on my wheels to keep brake dust from building up. Anybody ever done this?

I did this on my 2006 Lariat that had chrome wheels. For the winter months I put a layer on and did not wipe it off. When the thaw hit I'd wash the truck good and wipe off the old wax. I did find a nice coating made clean up so much easier.
