I have an 13 stx 5.0 with rubber floors and have owned and ridden in 10-13 models from lariat to XL and carpet or no the noise difference is non existant. Tires make more difference than carpet. Changing tire tread design made my already tomb quiet lincoln even quieter and my truck is very very close to as quiet at the lincoln on the highway.

I won't ever own another truck with carpet. I have had 2 platinum owners ask me how I got a truck without carpet.

How so? Since you have to vacuum both I don't see the difference? I've had 2 Ford sedans (LTD cruiser with a 460, and an 85 Crown Vic) with vinyl floors and never had a problem keeping them clean. Sure they will show some dirt/scuff marks, but after I would clean my glass I would take the used paper towels and wipe off any dirt or other gunk off the floor.

For all you carpet lovers out there, enjoy. I wish I had the option to get carpet delete on higher option packages. I was simply ranting, er, stating my case why. New England winters are nasty on carpets, and the carpet in the 03 Odyssey is now perma brown and charcoal color. Mats are just another thing to get dirty and trap dirt and debris. But I have to say the form fit WeatherTech liners (not mats) are the next best thing. But quality isn't cheap, a full set of liners for a SuperCrew is $209 before shipping...
