Is anyone else noticing a problem like this?

Oops … no high strength military alloys here!

I have an xlt sport. Built in 8/2015. Same issue but not as dramatic as the OPs pics. Wonder if my dealer will send a replacement?

Only issue is a replacement will do the same thing until they correct the problem. I'm sure a lot of them are doing it if not all but people rarely climb into the bed and look at the 3rd brake light. I didn't until i read this and mine has started, i would have probably never known.

Add mine to the list. After reading this I went and checked mine and it has started to melt. My truck has just over 1500 miles on it and I never leave the door open for long periods of time. Not sure what to do because if ford replaces it I'm sure it will do it again soon after. I might see if I can get it replaced and changed the lights to LEDs. Thanks to the OP for posting this as I'm sure most of us wouldnt know about the problem for a long time to come.

Shoot, now I got one more thing to go look for...
Does this light only come on when the doors are open or you turn on the rear cab lights?

nope. in-bed lights are LED, but cargos should be incandescent.

I could be wrong but I think the platinum comes with LEDs for both cargo and box lights.

I called my friend this morning who also has a 2015 f 150 and told him about this. He called me back 10 minutes later and said his are also melting.
