I currently have the smaller mirrors and would like to replace them with the tow mirrors. I have talked to 2 different dealerships and they both say the mirrors can not be swapped. I find this so hard to believe.
Has anybody actually swapped the smaller mirrors with the tow mirrors? Were there any issues or was it as simple as unplug the electrical connection, unbolt and replace?

The only thing I would think that would be stopping it would possibly be electrical harnesses.

If you do a search on mirrors you will find much info. I did what you want but options on mirror and what door switch along with power/manual extension/fold all matter.

OldFlick, Thanks for the reply. I am not looking for the power extend/fold mirrors. I just want the tow mirrors with the spot light and hopefully heated if that is possible. What options were on your replacement mirrors?

Thats odd, I have an XLT with the chrome package and black tow mirrors. Manual fold, telescope. Perhaps it is a power feature.

My dealer told me the same. I asked what it would cost and they said it couldn't be done. I also find this hard to believe.

My mirrors have every option. I went from regular to tow. If you want to go with same options as truck has it is plug and play.

My understanding is that the cap will be color matched if you are going with a Lariat with 502A AND Sport Package. ie. My Tuxedo Black Lariat with 502A and tow mirrors will have th bottom part black plastic finish but the top part will be painted Tuxedo Black in the Sport package.

Tow mirrors either have chrome skull caps or are simply black textured plastic. No painted skull caps, black or otherwise, on 2015 tow mirrors. (I bought a 502a Lariat Sport)

is there a button to extend the tow mirrors on the higher end model? I skipped them by accident ordering my 501a
