Default Bought the wrong truck

Took me about 2 months to notice because did not test drive any other trucks until my dad just bought his and pulled into the driveway and saw his truck was different. That I bought a 3.5L NA not the ecoboost. Thought the truck was a little sluggish. After driving the 2.7L ecoboost compared to mine it is much more fun to drive. What a dumb *** mistake.

Are you joking? cab, box and engine size/type are the 3 most important things to consider when buying a truck. This coming from a guy who has no clue about trucks until a month ago, never thought of driving one and been driving German (Audi and VW) cars for years. The last V8 american car I had was my first car (1987 Monte Carlo SS).

Use THIS link to look up you potential Ford's VIN for it's window sticker. The sticker will have more info than allot of sales persons will know about or give you.

Good luck!

Bummer.
A few years ago I bought a screw with a 6.5 bed and I wanted a 5.5 bed. Here's how it went down. It was in the snow and I test drove an Ecoboost, then decided to get the 5.0. The salesman said they had one, I peeked out of the showroom and saw it from the front and said I would take it. I didn't realize it was the longer bed until I got home. I ended up really liking it though.

Lol, another reason they should have kept the 3.7 NA instead of the newer
3.5 NA - less confusion. Sorry about your goof up, man.

You have to be very careful when you are on the lot looking at a lot of different trucks. I researched for weeks, GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota, and had a list a mile long printed and with me in the dealerships.

With all this info it was very confusing to say the least. I could definitely see how a person could buy the wrong truck. It's best to take someone along with you to help keep track of the specs that are most important to you and you get EXACTLY what you want, or as close to that as possible.

I think the guys who order their trucks have it much easier, Write down exactly what you want and wait for it to come. Lot shopping for a truck with all the things you want is definitely confusing, and time consuming. Totally worth it though.

my only mistake was 3.31 gears instead of 3.55.... i noticed it after I drove for 3 hours to pick it up..

so I ended up buying 3.31. can't complain too much as I do not tow..but fuel mileage in city is 12MPG.. i think I would do better with 3.55

You're exactly right. My last truck had 3.31 with the 5.0 and I hated it. Prior to that I had a 2010 4.6 3V and 2013 5.0 both with 3.55 and they were great. I probably went overboard with 3.73 this time, but if I go with a larger tire later it will be perfect.
