Default On board air with tank

Did a quick search but didn't see what I was looking for. Has anyone installed onboard air with a tank. If so where did you mount it. I see many mount compressors on top of spare tire but didn't see any tanks. I do not want it in the bed or cab. Hoping to fit at least a 2.5 gallon tank, would prefer 5 if it will fit somewhere.

What are you going to be using the air for? I installed on board air on my 250 but have since realized that its much easier to move my portable Vivair from truck to truck. I'm only airing up tires though.

I am going to install a set of Firestone Ride-Rite air bags and also what to be able to connect a hose for air chuck/tools.

Don't bother trying to run air tools off a 5 gallon tank. You can run a nail gun but that's about it. If your going to use air impacts or air ratchets your going to need more like a 30+ gal tank. Even then you need to make sure they are high pressure low volume tools.
