Default block heater Plug relocated to rear bumper

So we have long cold winters here where the truck will be plugged in almost every day or night. At our work parking lot it is much easier and accepted to back into your parking spot.
So instead of running an extension cord the length of the truck and plugging it into the front location, I'm thinking about running it along the frame to the back of the truck. As well I have this adapted on order:

For a clean install I'm thinking about installing this adapted through the plastic bumper directly underneith the "spare tire key unlock" beside the license plate.

Just have to stomach drilling through the bumper of a 60 thousand dollar truck!

Anyone do this yet?

You should have no problems as long as you use a #14/3 gauge outside extension cord type wire & be carefull not to put it anywhere it could get rubbed or chafed etc. or against/near a heat source I have seen these cords also wrapped with that corrugated wire loom available @ most Automotive stores...Of course a yearly periodic inspection would be in your best interests!! GOOD DAY!!

Sounds like you have a good plan. Just don`t be scared! Measure twice cut once and show us pics when you`re done!

It means he & others prefer to back in.....Also if you were to run & work in cold climates (as him & I do) & if you do have problems starting etc. it is much easier to boost your battery etc. or pick-up with a tow truck..... if you did back in...Been there done that!!

Not uncommon, I have worked at a lot of Corporate locations where it is a requirement to back in as they believe it improves safety and reduces accidents if you are pulling out rather than backing out
