Default Bilstein 5100

Called Bilstein this morning in California. They stated that 5100's for the 2015 F-150 are in R&D and will probably be available by the end of this year. Said they want to get the valving right.

Hopefully they get a little better quality this time around. I'm running a 50% success ratio on these, last two sets had one blown after 20k miles.

But feel free to try and get one warrantied, they'll just tell you a little oil is normal, even when the entire shock and spring is covered and the other is bone dry.

Never again.

I had good luck with my 5100's on my 05. If they were available, it would be the leveling kit I'd use. Is the valving that hard for them to get right? I watched one of those car tv shows like xtreme 4x4 and Bilstein had a van decked out just for dialing in shocks. Valving is what they worked on and made it look like a piece of cake. One would assume, valving would be pretty darn close to the 13's.

I've been running Bilsteins on my 2012 Plat since day one and am very happy with them. First thing I'll be putting on when I get my next truck.

Damn I was hoping they'd be available sooner. Now the question is do I wait for them to level the truck or go with a levelling kit???

They probably have to go with slightly softer valving since the truck is lighter.

Was that for notes rears or the fronts (or both?)

for both -- I asked about using rears from other years and he said others have tried but they were not set up right for the '15's. I will just wait until they have the right ones. 5100's work so much better than stock if you have never had them before.
