Ohsix:
Thanks for the update on your shock install. I think you installed the 6400's correct? If the boot is rubbing on the wheel liner is there room to cut a little of the liner out for clearance? Or maybe just install them upside down so they don't rub. I think it matters little as to up or down. Here is a quote from a Bilstein tech I found about the issue.
Do I mount the shocks with the boot pointing up or down?
With the internal design of the Bilstein monotube gas shocks, it does not matter whether the shocks are mounted with the shock rod side up or down. There are some minor advantages in longevity and overall suspension effectiveness with the shock rod pointed down, and there are many instances where Bilstein has changed the orientation to take advantage of these minor improvements where there are no clearance problems. If there is an option, we recommend mounting the shock with the shock rod and boot pointing down, but in the grand scheme of things, there is no noticeable difference.

I'm using the 5100's for the '14s on my '16 without a hitch. Same shock.

The rears I assume you're talking about? While the extended/collapsed lengths may be compatible there is a different part number for a reason. Valving was changed for the 15-current year models. Enough to notice? Possibly not. Just ordered one thing and received another. Might have thrown them on if I had received the fronts at the same time.

Ditto. Stage3 is great, but it bugs me when I don't get what I ordered, and from what I understand, the valving is different. But I'm in the same boat, waiting for the fronts to ship with no ETA.

I wouldn't think so. There are numerous reports of folks who've tried both and favor the Fox for the better ride.
