Default Best Tip if you're buying a new F150

I see a lot of posts on here from people asking for tips on buying a new F150. My best tip is to get the Extended Range fuel tank. I can't stress enough how big of a deal this is, especially if you plan on pulling a trailer. I know a lot of folks on here have even said they wouldn't buy a truck without the larger tank, it's "deal breaker." Do yourself a big favor and get the larger tank! It's definitely worth the extra $.

If you're towing, it seems like it would pretty much be a must have.

For those of us who don't tow much and use it basically for commuting and working around the house, it's not a huge deal.

I have about a 400 mile range with the 23 gallon, and without any long trips, I need to fill up about every 8-10 days.

Best thing on my truck. I can almost make it three weeks between fill ups.

x2

I don't tow at all right now. Don't have the money to pay for the boat/RV/trailer that would need towing! If I did tow or make long trips, the 36 gallon would have been necessary equipment though. A $400 option that would save a ton of headaches in the long run (pun semi-intended).

I don't see what the big deal about it is. The 23 gallon has more capacity than my bladder. I'd be stopping anyway.

One of my favourite features of my 2012 f150 over my dads 2011 F250.. Both beautiful trucks but the large fuel tank wasn't available in the short box.

Can't stress enough how much I enjoy the large tank. That being said, I average around 3-4k kilometres a month so that's a lot of fills regardless of the tank.

Best Feature would be a backup Camera. I don't have one and on a supercrew its a necessity.

Optional 32 gallon extended range tank on a Ram cost a grand total of $75. Why is it a $395 option on the F-150?
