Great thread guys. A new bedrug is on it's way to me and I was wondering how folks were tackling the lights.

I don't plan on taking out the BedRug, so this is a non issue for me. I wasn't sure if the lights would snap in 100% so I thought if the carpet was glued down around the hole, it would put less stress on the lights. So far so good. the install looks very good, and you cant even see my bo-bo from cutting the hole in the wrong spot cause I glued the repair back in place and re cut the hole correctly.

Hello, great pictures, I just bought my truck and considering the bed rug but wanted to know if the boxlink system worked well with the liner behind as in your pictures? I figured who better to ask then the guys who have already done the install?

So you can easily release the clips without removing the tail lights?
Then, just so I understand, the light and switch will be hanging from their wires. You can trim the bedrug to the metal opening. Then press the lights and switch back in and they clamp down the rug?
You do this after you attach the tie-downs through the bedrug?
Thanks again. Hoping to install mine tomorrow.

all correct
trial fit before cutting, as many of us HAVE'NT done, lol
we all have a carpet patch on the right side......kekeke
some guy made a comment to just cut a slit vs cutting out the shape and that will work on the lights, as long as you go all the way to the top and bottom. i don't think it'll work on the switch because the opening is too small, you'll have to cut a square out. and that switch was a PITA to get out.

What's the trick on the switch?
I figured out pretty quickly how the clip on the lights works, and they are easy to remove. But I couldn't get the same thing to work on the switch. Is there a spring clip on the bottom just like the lights? Maybe I can reach the back of it from underneath.
