Ditto on the locked down initially. Interesting about the manual.

I just looked over the 2013 and 2015 manual. The 2013 manual states that the rear seats of a SuperCAB lock, not the SuperCREW. The 2015 manual doesn't go into that detail.

Question for you. I know on the Supercrew, on the passenger side you can pull a latch on the side of the seat to release the seatback to get to the jack, etc. How does the seatback on the driver's side release (if at all). I hunted around for a lever or a latch and came up empty. Also didn't see anything in the manual unless I totally missed it.

Thanks.

I figured out how the other day. Behind the seat back Closer to the door there's a latch that locks it. You simply need to push a lever/pin down and it releases the drivers side seatback. On a screw, I assume it's the same as a scab

It is. Just need to fold the head rest down so you can see it. Then push the latch back manually to release the seat. I had to shift the little bar it latches to to get it to click back in. Otherwise, works no problem

So the verdict is they don't lock down? I wonder why they would initially?

edit: nevermind.

I would definitely want the seats to lock down myself.

My older Ford truck locked down. But my new 2015 locks up but not down. I think I read they made it to "lock up" so they dont fall on your precious belongings but just lift up so if your hands are full of groceries or beer you can easily lift them up to stow things. I prefer the easier lift up to lock so I dont have to bend my lazy butt down to empty my hands before lifting the seat. Trust me, its much easier.

Feel free to check out my truck and experience as a new 2015 owner at my forum link.

Curious to understand the need for the seat bottom to lock in the down position. When down, they don't bounce up and down at all so why lock? It is great that a quick lift and they "float" up to lock in the up position.

Just curious.

To me it seems like a safety issue with little kids in the back in the event of a serious wreck.
