Default Auto headlamps question

When my headlamps are set to auto, they don't seem to ever turn off. Even in the bright daytime the led s are lit up.

Is this normal? Seems like the led strips would function as drl's.

check the info screen to make sure DRL's are active or not. The headlights are the DRL's if you have them turned on.

Thanks. I'll check that out.

If the headlamps are the DRLs, when do the orange led strips illuminate?

If the headlights are on, you will see a "green" headlight symbol on the dash. If it isn't there, then only the DRLs are on...the orange strip illuminates when parking lights are on(manually) or the headlights are on (either manually or automatically).

Per DOT regulations, it is up to the manufacturer to decide if they want DRL function be turned off completely, some manufacturers do not give you an option to turn everything off. ex. Honda/Acura. Not sure what Ford has done with the F150 though.

There is definitely an option to turn it off on the 2015. I've done it. FWIW my truck came with DRL on so I'd guess that is the default setting maybe ?

Mine came with default as off, the dealer had me turn them on during the demonstration of all the electronics.

On a side note, it is possible to turn the fog lights on when the headlight **** is set to automatic? I'd like to keep my lights on automatic so they adjust depending on the time of day, but I can't get the fog lights to turn on unless it's dark out. Kind of annoying, I liked using my DRLs w/ the fogs on my old truck.
