I've driven the '15 EB and 5.0L and I absolutely loathe the sound symposer on the EB. It kicks in too late making the natural noise and fake noise overlap at times, it's too boomy and loud and it just sounds fake. It takes away from the nice, smooth, isolated ambience of the cabin. I'm not sure why they needed to do this, I think the EB makes a natural, smooth and quiet noise in the XLT trucks.

The 5.0L has the same sound but it's quieter, less boomy and much smoother. Ford sold me on the 5.0L again by making that feature a permanent program in the computer. Hate it!

If the same made up v8 sound is on the EB truck by 17, my next one will be a 5.0!

I've got the head electrical guy at work (dealership) figuring out if it can be programmed out using the Ford's OBD2 system. So there may be hope.

Just a friendly heads up. Don't know if you are a car audio enthusiast, but I've read about significant issues arising when folks have upgraded the sound system to aftermarket in the 3.5EB's with the enhanced engine sound.

Problems have ranged from a hissing noise to the enhanced engine sound becoming annoyingly loud and obnoxious.

Yeah, I'm that guy.

If you have any plans or hopes or dreams of upgrading your audio using the factory radio, beware.

If you add an amp or audio control interface, the fake noise changes and in my case gets much louder.

The fake noise is made in the radio and cannot be turned off. I promise.

Thanks for the heads up. Makes the 5.0 a no brainer IMO!

Yep only lariat and higher trim levels. Be thankful you have an XLT.

If the sound is made in the head unit of the EB couldn't you order a head unit for a 5.0 truck to get rid of it?

Heres a dumb question, it it really becomes bothersome, can you turn the radio on, with the volume all the way off and not hear the fake noise? Or is it amplified with the radio on also?
