Default Anyone Re-new Sirius radio yet?

Have any of you guys out there that have had your truck over 6 months yet renewed your sirius radio? Mine ran out about a month ago and was thinking about renewing it, and was wondering what kind of deals you got? I know about 3 years ago i was able to get it for $77 a year plus tax.

Thanks

I only listen to Octane. Nothing else. I heard it is stern and sports that contribute the most to the expense. It appears the cost is now up to $17.99 a month. Not reasonable. Wonder if they offer just music packages at a reduced rate

Mine doesn't expire until January 16, but I received a letter in the mail last week. At $175/year I don't see it happening, considering I already pay for a data plan on my phone and can stream internet radio and bluetooth audio to MFT.

I've gotten 1 year for $60. 3 years in a row now. Just have to be stern with them and threaten with not renewing

From time to time I've been able to get a "5 months for $5 a month" deal. I think it's basically a trial membership and hasn't worked every time but when it does it's been worth the headache of staying on the line with them until you get to a cancellation rep.

I was told by the dealer that the initial free trial will run out on its own, no need to stop service. Can anyone else confirm this?

Yes it runs out on its own. You don't need to do anything. About 2 weeks out the radio will tell you service is ending. If you don't pay, it ends on it's own.

Yes, it runs out because Sirius dont have a credit card for you under the trial. Of course once you sign up to extend they try to insist you give then a CC for it, which they automatically debit at renewal. Thats how they still;l get so many people to pay the ~$175/year. I always tell them to cancel and when you get the cancellation agent they can normally come up with a "special" deal for you. (typically ~$5/month for 5 months or $80/year) They do of course make you jump through a few hoops but juts be persistent!
