AMP Power Steps Installed

Nice job on the install. Looks a little cleaner than mine in the engine bay. I might do the lights one day. It would probably take 20 minutes from the time I lay down on the ground. I just don't really see the need for it.
I noticed we have different batteries which is probably why I ran into a problem installing the negative connection to the post.
Did you do the plug-n-play or the ODBII pass through? I did plug-n-play which means I need to unplug it if I want to change a setting on my tuner but it's not really that big of a deal.
Oh, did you bother using silicone on the rubber grommet in the floor pan? I didn't. I covered the rubber grommet with electrical tape and drilled a small hole, barely enough for the two purple wires to pass through to the cab. It appears that the tape sealed off behind the wires. I doubt any water or anything will get through.

I did use the plug and play ODBII plug that came with the kit. I may get the Y cable kit later to keep that port open.
Did not use silicone to cover the grommets. I also cover them with tape but I used black duct tape on the inside of the cab. I did the same thing to the other side when I ran the signal wire out of the cab to the relay for the airbag wireless one pump.

Thanks! I saw that ground point but it stretched the wire across the top of the battery and it looked pretty nasty. I'm all about substance over style, but if I can make it look nice and still have it work then I'm going to.
Oh, Scotsskier,
I think they are much better than any Ford factory stationary running board. It makes the step up into the truck a lot more comfortable. Instead of stepping up to a running board 15 inches off the ground and then another 5 into the vehicle- you're stepping onto a step 10 inches off the ground then another 10 into the vehicle. It just makes more sense.
My wife is 5' and my daughter is tiny. They both prefer the power steps because it makes their climb that much easier - especially since the wife is pregnant again.
If it's in your budget, I'd make it a factory upgrade. I think you can only do that on the Lariat though. Unless I'm mistaken it's not a choice on the XLT.

Yea I think the boards come with the tech package? I think...
My wife also likes them better than the stock fixed boards. She can get in the truck alot easier now. She is also skinny, small, and short. LOL
Get with Stage 3 they gave me a pretty good deal 1059 shipped to my door. If you decided to do it yourself.

Booze - I went ahead and installed the LED's. I really like them. You could use some clear packing tape to put them on temporarily...
And yes it is hot as hades here in DFW right now.

Nevermind, I just went out there and fixed it. I'm a dumbass most of the time so this is right up my alley. All I did was remove some of the flex tube around the red/black wire from the controller and I had plenty of room to go around the battery. It looks much cleaner now. Thanks. Feel free to laugh at me.

Everything is in my sig at the bottom of my post.
The lift is not installed yet. The box in my house taunts me daily but I haven't set up the appointment yet.
