I wonder if it's specific to that color. Down here in Corpus the roads are garbage. There's constantly stuff being flung up by other cars, no issues like that on my oxford white and caribou f150.

Edit: Could everyone start posting the color of their vehicle? That would help to determine if it's just the lithium gray that has this issue, if it is related to the aluminum, or if quality control is bad.

Yeah i have noticed the paint on these trucks are very thin and a slight tap will get a chip. I have noticed a few spots on the side of the bed.

Just got a note back from my dealer. He owns a 2016 Shadow Black F150 and hasn't had any issues. He also said that they have sold a few of the Lithium colored F150's to customers in the area and haven't heard of any issues with abnormal road rash, as he put it.

My 2016 lithium gray paint seems to be holding up fine so far (bought it in Feb 2016). That is with quite a bit of driving on muddy/gravel roads in the mountains around our hunting camp.

Your pictures definitely look like your paint is chipping excessively. My wife has a 2012 Nissan Rogue that seems to chip very easily...but even her vehicle doesn't look as bad as your pictures seem to indicate what your paint is doing.

My Oxford White is holding up nicely thus far. Only 6K miles on the clock but 90% of that is highway miles.

My 2016 is Blue Jeans Metallic and I've got a couple of random chips in my paint. Both about the size of a BB. One is just in front of the passenger side rear wheel well, towards the bottom of the truck. Probably just some sling gravel, although I don't know how it curved around the wheel well and came back at the truck to hit it where it is. Also, there's a chip on my passenger side A pillar, right where the metal starts curving in to the door jamb. I can't think of any way that could have happened. No dents or dings where the chips are.

If you think the paint quality is bad the clear coat is very thin compared to previously owned vehicles. I learned the hard way trying to get a scratch out of the hood on my 15 magnetic.
