I typically just leave it in that position. They are brighter than I was told by the installer that he went through several cutting blades while going through the bumper. It was all taped off, the edges were primed and painted before the lights were installed. I believe the wiriging runs up along the frame. I don't have any wires attached to the trailer hitch wiring as that seems to give the F-150 fits thinking there is a a trailer actually attached. The lights look factory - which is how I wanted them to look.
Awesome, thanks. For nearly $250 I would hope they last longer than the $20-$40 ones I've used in the past! I like the 3 way switch idea too. Being able to turn these various lights on and off as needed when I don't have any house lights or street lights nearby is very useful.

Here is a picture from the back while the truck is in reverse. Is the light on the tailgate supposed to turn on? When I open a door it comes on and I can see much better. Can anyone check theirs?

Here is what my nighttime rear view looks like. I can barely see the driveway.

My additional backup light is not quite as elaborate. I have used the blazer backup light from Tractor Supply.

It plugs into your 7 point plug, and you're ready to go. Not bad for 20 bucks. Had one in my 09/12/15 F150s Here is a pic.

Plug and play.

Thanks! I'd forgotten about those. I'd thought about one for my last truck, but with the 7-pin below the bumper I didn't want to tear it off and lose it. Now that it's in the bumper it's a different story.

Any problem with the truck thinking it is hooked to a trailer?

Also, do you have any comparison pics at night? Thank you so much.

Default Added light when backing up

Upgrading the stock bulbs to some 3156 LED projector bulbs helps. I couldn't tell I had backup lights due to my tint before changing over to LED.
