Adaptive cruise control

Adaptive cruise control
Going to be building my truck and wanted to know everyone's thoughts with the adaptive cruise control option.
When you're driving, let's say at 70mph, how much distance does it put between you and the car in front of you?
How does it work in rush hour? I know it doesn't work under 12mph but if the traffic is over 12mph does it resume?

I love mine, it works really well. It's adjustable with the distance so if you want to be further or closer you can set the distance you feel comfortable with. As far as rush hour traffic I've never tried it in that situation. The drivers here are so crazy and unpredictable I wouldn't trust anything to react to these monsters. I only use mine out on the open road.

When a vehicle ahead of you enters the
same lane or a slower vehicle is ahead in
the same lane, the vehicle speed adjusts
to maintain a preset gap distance. The
distance setting is adjustable.
It appears the system disengages below 12.4 mph and does not resume.

I had my cruise set at 70 came up on a car doing 45 -50 and was supprised how aggressively the adaptive Cruise responded... I am pretty sure that it used the brakes, as I don't think the engine braking could slow the track as rapidly as it did.
Once the car moved over the Cruise returned my speed to 70. As a side note the dash indicates what speed you have the cruise set too... It takes a little getting use to but its great once you get use to it.

I love mine had it on my XTS now on my Platinum I find the furthest distance allows for to many lane darters I like middle setting.. One thing unlike the XTS the f150 does not apply the brakes to keep distance just backs off the gas..

It works great and there are 4 distance settings. The closest distance is 1 second behind the vehicle in front and the farthest distance is 2.2 seconds behind. Each setting is 0.4 seconds different (1.0, 1.4, 1.8, 2.2).
(It's in the manual. I didn't time it)
