Hey, I appreciate it. Really

I'll tell ya, even if I didn't wanna upgrade the audio I would want this shut off. Everybodies got their take on the fake motor noise but me, this guy, I hate it.

I would be interested to know if the audio speaker level inputs can be used so that the factory DSP can be bypassed and still retain the factory volume control. I see the diagram lists the left and right +/- audio signals from the audio control module to the DSP.

Unfortunately, they cannot. It's a high level output with no volume control. All the volume control is done by the dsp over the module communication network.

Default Thankyou

Oh man. Thank you so, so, so, so much. I am going back to my dealer tomorrow. I have a '15 Lariat. I had the dealership transfer my audio system (JL 1000/5, 2 microsubs, and 4 6.5 speakers). I didn't notice it until I brought the truck home, but there is a HORRIBLE hiss/garble. I mean just awful. The tech said he cut the mic for the engine noise, but I'm not convinced it worked, because I have the horrific hiss, and my SYNC mic doesn't work (nobody can hear me on bluetooth).

I HOPE that this fixes the issue. I will buy you a brew if that is the case. I'm up here in Jacksonville, so if you're ever in the area, and this works, message me.

Default Active Noise Control (Fake Engine) Disable How-To

This is gold. Planning on tackling this tomorrow afternoon. I hated the *******-measuring contest known as "sound symposer" from the very start. I unplugged the entire connector this morning and went for a ride just to check it out and the engine is much quieter and the entire truck seems more refined without it. I'm excited.

Ford engineered such a smooth, quiet and refined engine and then draped a loud and boomy engine note on top. It's like adding milk to a glass of rum and coke.

It would be kinda funny if we could have a MENU of different sounds to select from for Supplemental Engine Noise.
A military jet engine would be fun...

Well, in theory... you could likely wire any audio source into those pins and pump looped sound in. Now, it wouldn't be synced to your engine like that audio source is, but would be merged into the audio none the less...

Thinking about it... I could probably rig up an adruino in between the two, read the levels coming from the engine noise and then generate a different noise (engine jet for instance) at a corresponding level to send to the DSP.
