The big tank was a massive selling point for me.
I drive anywhere from 200-500 miles per day, and my current SUV only has a 21 gallon tank, not to mention with aggressive tires on it I'm only getting arounder 15 mpg! This means I fill up in the morning, and them and gain on my way home most days.
I can't wait to not have to hit the gas station twice in a day!

If I understand correctly, you can't get the bigger tank on an xl in base, or xlt in base trim. you have to go to the higher equipment groups.
You also cant get CC in the XL at all. So, if I want CC and the large tank, I gotta go to the XLT with the 301A.
That does not appeal to me...

I have seen both 33 and 36 gal for the "extended fuel tank". I have also seen that the 36 gal tank has only 33 "usable". I have one on my new 2015 Lariat I just picked up last night. Ha! Nice truck, uglier than the '12 it replaced tho.

I have a 36 gal on my XLT. When filling it up. The pump always clicks off at or around 30 gals. It's hard to cram anymore in it because the pump handle keeps cutting off. The most I was ever been able to cram is there was 32 gals. This is with ruffly 45-55 miles left to empty. I'd figured that if I'm getting 21mpg then there is only about 2 gallons left in the tank......apparently not.
