3.5 w/10 speed dissappointment
I recently went to a ford dealer and they had a white 2017 3.5 ecoboost with the 10 speed. the truck had 5 miles on it when we started the test drive. we drove around for about 6 miles so I stopped at a stop sign so I figured I would get on it a little without stomping on it. well it felt like it was loaded up like too much fuel and felt like it was bogging. but then it cleared out in like 3 seconds but then there was a vibration though out the truck that last about a second but was noticeable to me.
anyone else ever feel this? the truck was a short bed crew cab lariat 4x4.

Nope, no issues like that with mine. I did not get on it for the first 3-400 miles though. Its awesome to have it rip thru the gears now though. Stays in the power band and just keeps pulling. I still haven't put my foot thru the floor board yet.

My guess is the tranny hasn't learned any particular driving style and doesn't know what gears to skip or start out from yet from the lack of memory , did you happen to notice what gear it was in ?

I would imaging it as in 2nd cause I didn't go from a dead stop.....it had only 5 miles on it when we started out so I guess it was gas ford put in. It was also low on fuel..

Truck is too new to be romping on it like that, it doesn't know what to do yet. You need about 100 miles on the truck to really get its thang together. The vibration you felt was probably the driveshaft, my 14 would vibrate on a hard giddy up, especially if it had weight on it.

The lag you felt was most likely the delayed response of the Drive by wire. Throttle adaptation hasn't occurred yet.

You really need to put a few miles on the 10 speed to get it dialled in. They are very clunky and a little sleepy when new but smooth out after a few short miles once it gets to know you and the way you drive.
