3.5 EcoBoost tuning under way at Livernois Motorsports!
We just wanted to let everyone know that we are dilligently working away at getting our tuning finalized and released for the 3.5 EcoBoost equipped 2015 F150.
So far there are a few things that we have noticed that Ford, for some reason, changed from 2014 to 2015. Both of these will impact the potential for making power on the 3.5 with a tune only.
#1. This truck uses a 2-bar MAP sensor. For those that aren't familiar with the function of a MAP sensor allows the computer to read the amount of pressure (or boost) that the engine has going through it. The 11-14 trucks used a more capable 3-bar sensor. Our first recommended upgrade with tuning on these trucks will more than likely putting an upgraded MAP sensor on it to better control boost.
#2. The fuel pump. This engine's fuel system has changed as well compared to the 11-4 trucks and is unfortunately, a downgrade compared to the 11-14 trucks. We of course will develop calibration that is safe with this fuel system change, but we just wanted to report what we are seeing so far.
We will be posting results as soon as we have them ready

We don't have the hard specific yet, but suffice it to say we are already fast approaching the limit with only a tune. This was not the case on the 11-14 trucks until we were into tuning plus full bolt ons. Even then it's only near the limit on an 11-14 with full bolt ons. It looks like the Bean Counters stuck again!

Honestly I have driven quite a few 2013's and 2014 F150 with the Ecoboost and my truck definitely feels faster and has little if no turbo lag. Maybe it's the weight factor, but I just can't see them downgrading the engine. Something does not sound right.

The stuff they're calling out as downgrades isn't something that would affect the stock setup, it just limits the ability to turn up the boost beyond stock levels with software alone.
