Thinking about trading 5.0 2014 for 2015 3.5 eco and I was wondering what kind of gas mileage members were getting with 3.5 eco 2015.

Not significantly more than what's being reported for the 5.0.

Using cruise control and driving easy I can hold just shy of 18 for mostly around town and rural secondary roads. I do very little real highway driving.

At 1000 miles I'm averaging 15 or 16 around town but can hit 21+ on the highway at 72. 2015 platinum fx4 3.31

19 mpgUS overall since 2011, not towing.
(3.73 SCab 4x2 with Michelin LTX MS/2 all-seasons)

How you drive it has a big effect on turbo motors. I drive it carefully.

I made the same move, from a 2011 Lariat 5.0, 4x4, screw with 3.55, to a 2015, Lariat FX4 3.5 Eco, 4x4, screw with 3.55.

I drive back roads, with a lot of stop and go, and some town, my lifetime average with the 5.0 was 17.2.

The week before I traded, I reset the mileage indicator on my 2011, I averaged 15.9, doing my average week of driving to work etc. This week, with the 2015 with 3.5 eco, I average 17.3, I'm happy granite it only has 750 miles on it. I think its safe to say I can pick up a 1.5 to 2 mpg gain, and Im happy with that, I really didn't buy it expecting to see huge gains. On long stretches going 60, once the pickup is warmed up, the indicator is steadily above 20. Seems to be maybe more touchy on the temperature than my 2011. Once they roll out summer gas, I usually pick up 1-2 mpg.

It depends on your driving style. It' probably not going to be any more than 1-2 MPG better than the 5.0, if that.

I'm 3000 miles in on my 3.5. In mixed driving with a 70 mile round trip commute to work 50% highway I'm averaging 19 mpg. Only had one tank less than 19, I write down the average every fill up. We've had a lot of below zero weather here if that matters. This week it's actually highs in the 20's -30 and Im averaging 20 on this tank.

My 2007 5.4 got 15-16 at best this time of year on the same commute. It was a great engine, until I discovered these newer engines.

FWIW 2015 4x4, Screw, 6.5 foot bed, XLT, 3.55 rear axle. Yes, pretty much the biggest config without all the extras.
