Default 3.5 EB sport mode what does it do, exactly?

From what I've read the sport mode only effects the transmission, but when I flip it on, it seems the engine has more of a roar, even in the lower RPMs. Is it affecting anything other than the transmission?

Yes it does change the throttle mapping as well. Not more power just more tip in persay.

There is definitely a difference within the same gear. I've experimented when using the button shifting to stay in a certain gear, versus using 'S' mode. 'S' mode gives much greater "shallow" throttle response that tapers off toward wide open throttle. Regular 'Drive' has a more relaxed curve until you get deeper into the pedal, but feels about the same at wide open throttle.

I'd say it's just lower gearing + more throttle response shallower into the pedal.

Ive notice around the city anyway, transmission is very hesitant to go into 5th or 6th gear. Definately feels more responsive with city driving. I have also been able to "catch it" holding a gear.

Situation: Accelerate to pass, pull away from stop light or leave rubber like HCFX2013 did, but if you get out of the throttle (seems to be more common in 2nd or 3rd gear, the transmission will still hold the gear and will not upshift until road speed / engine RPM increases. I have only been able to do this in sport mode. With the transmission holding the gear and I push the sport / tow haul button, the tranmission will immediately upshift to the next gear.

End of the day, I like it

Yeah its tough not to leave it on, but I've only got 350 miles on the truck so far, I hear you shouldn't use it much during break in?
