Default 3.5 eb or 5.0

im about to order my 15 f150 and im really torn between the two engine choices. ill be lifting the truck and using it on weekend trips and around town errands. I dont pull anything but want to able to if I have to. I love the sound of the coyote and its simplicity, but i also see the potential of the eb engines as far as power, but i cant stand how it sounds

Either one. I had a 13 ecoboost FX4 with 3.55 rear 26,000 miles. Traded it in on a 15 Lariat FX4 5.0 with 3.73 Loving life now!

You are not buying a truck for quickness or getting the fastest one. All trucks are slow. You decide about getting the best performance when buying a performance vehicle. You won't have any regrets with the 5.0, but you might with the EB. You already don't like the sound, wait till the mpg's disappoint you.

^^^These are good points.

But yeah, drive them both & then decide. No question the 5.0 sounds great, performance-wise sounds like either would suit your needs.

I went for the 5.0 with 3.73s after driving them both. I really liked the power of the EB but hated the fake V8 engine noise pumped through the speakers. I had a hell of a time finding a 5.0l with 3.73s in a color I liked, ended up driving to Louisiana from Houston to get the one I wanted!
