2016 Whine at 50mph under light acceleration
Hey guys I've searched the forum and could not find this issue on a 2016. I just bought a new f150 fx4 screw lariat with the 3.5EB. The truck has 500miles. I have noticed around 50mph under very light acceleration I get a faint whining noise that sounds like it's coming from the drivetrain. Any mph under or over 50 and it does not make a sound. Anyone else have this noise. I hope to hear this is a normal sound as I just traded a 2013 eb with 19k miles because of issues. I really hope I didn't make the wrong decision. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same noise. Took it to dealer they let me drive another truck same 5.0 engine and 3.31 gears. That one did it also.Mine has 3.55 gears so my noise came a little quicker. The tech. was riding with me and said he thought it was exhaust noise inside the exhaust system itself. I have about 7500 miles now and it still sounds the same.Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot man. That gives me a better piece of mind. I have 3.55 gear as well. I know it's a noise but if it's "normal" I'm fine with it. Just sucks buying 55k truck and having it in the shop the first week. Not to mention the nearest dealer is 45min away. It's not loud but I tend to notice the slightest noises. Thanks for the quick reply

Yea you are right. I hope this one won't give me issues like my last one. And it's quite embarrassing having to explain to your die hard Chevy family why your brand new ford is in the shop lol

Bump. Just took it out this evening and it's driving me crazy! I have to find out what it is. Sounds like rear end maybe. Almost like when you blow at an angle into a plastic bottle if that makes since. Anyone else hearing this like us?

I have a 2015 XLT screw with a 5.0 that did the same thing. Took it to the dealer because it drove me nuts. They put new ring and pinion gears in it and fixed the problem. The whine is from an incorrect backlash.
