Hey guys, I'm new here and this is my first truck (I'm upgrading from a 1993 Honda Civic so this is quite the change) and I am hoping someone can help. I have a 2016 F-150 XL 2.7L with the basic sync package (the small screen) and for almost all of today the radio won't turn on at all and the screen is just black. It just came back on randomly, however, but I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem too. I pulled the fuse to check it and it was fine and when I plugged it back in the screen was on, but really dim, until I started my truck and it turned back off. I'm suspecting it may be a bad ground or a loose wire somewhere. I'm going to try to take it to Ford tomorrow to see if they can figure it out. Thanks for any input.

Yeah, I have the same problem with my 2016. I have the small 4 inch sync radio. I've had my truck for barely 3 months and I have had about 7 or 8 "blackouts" so far. I'm going to start video taping the events because when I take it in to the dealer, they won't see it in action, of course. I'll drive to the grocery store and all is well, then when I get back in the truck, blacked out until I park it at home. Get back in and all is well. That's sorta been the pattern for me. One time it was blacked out for about 3 starts/stops and took until the next day for it to come back.

I had this happen to me last week, was out most the day then randomly stopped and then started working again a few hours later.

Me too. The master reset has worked thus far. Might be something we have to do periodically

When I spoke to Ford dropping my truck off they said it might be some sort of module (possible PCM), they said they will have a diagnosis by the end of the day

So it's a module that plugs into the pcm that controls accessories. Ford is ordering a new one and it comes on Tuesday next week so I'll have to drop my truck off again.

just picked up my brand new 2016 f-150 with standard sync last night. The truck only had 84 miles. This morning when i started the truck to go to work, the sync screen was dark. I tried several power buttons and thought it may have been something I did until I found this site. When I got into the truck a few hours later, everything worked just fine. I did nothing different. Needles to say I am very disappointed!! I am hoping this is only a 1 time event, but see from others on this site that I may be overly optimistic.

Known issue on another thread on this forum. No fix to date. I just lock my truck and come back a few minutes later and its back in business. it's happened approx 5 times in 7000 miles i've had the truck.

I see this post was from July, this issue just happened tonight with my truck, 7500 kms. Has there been anyone here that has had this problem corrected?
