2016 Lariat Supercrew Running Board Options
I have a new 2016 Lariat and need running boards as it is higher than I thought it would be and also I have been told that they do a good job as a protector from rocks and mud from the tires.
Anyone have any recommendations? OEM or aftermarket?

My '10 had the fixed boards, I never liked the looks of them, they weren't useful to me, but wife insisted I keep them. I always wanted the power folding boards that the Platinums had.
I found a '16 Lariat that has the power boards, I'm a huge fan of them. They are actually useful for me, I think it will save my driver's seat from me sliding in and out of the truck.
Plus they fold up and nearly out of sight when they are not in use.

I adopted a modified Corvette method. In a Corvette if you place one foot in then slide in you tend to slide down the bolster damaging it over time. Instead you set in seat then swing both legs in.
With the truck, I turn my back to the door and put my left heel on the step and lift up a little and set in the seat and swing my legs in. No more.dirty pants legs.

If you are considering OEM running boards think about the Super Duty brackets/boards. The brackets from the Super Duties hang lower than the F150. For me it makes it easier to get in. I have the Super Duty extended running boards, but those will only work with the 6.5 foot bed.

E-bay has a variety of take off boards. Look at chrome boards on the truck to match the bumper. My 16 was set up just like yours chrome bumper painted mirror caps & handles and had chrome boards put on it.

You can't see me
My Lariat has the power running boards. I've owned many trucks in my life...will never have anything less than these ever again.
