Best I could do was a couple hundred under invoice less any rebates.

Initially, I couldn't even find a dealer interested in selling me one, nonetheless, discounting one. I finally found a dealer that bit and sold it to me during the Friends and Family promotion.

I kept hearing the dreaded "Allocation" for a Limited and no one was willing to discount. True or not, who knows. There doesn't appear to be enough guys on here that have ordered one for any accurate info.

I received roughly the same deal as TB15XLT plus had a $750 coupon on top of it. My local dealer mentioned nothing at all about "allocations" The deal maker was the amount I got for my 2013 Platinum in trade.

I'm paying dealer invoice which is less than $50 cheaper than Ford supplier price, which I can also get. Dealer is a smaller dealer, but closest to home. Dealer principal told me I could probably get $1K below invoice from a larger dealer, but dealer invoice was the best he can do. I said okay.

I am paying $50 over invoice with the Friends and Family Plan and the dealer tells me I'll get a $500 or $1000 rebate depending on the program that is in place when I take delivery. They also gave me a good price on my Tacoma trade...

OK, so looks like the moral of the story is a Limited can be bought right at invoice. Good to know we all got the same deal anyway.

Good luck to you guys. Buying the first editions of a new models is not for the (financial) faint-of-heart. I did it once years ago.

I'm sure it will be a great truck...the letters on the hood stop me like the placard on the tailgate of Platinums does.

I'm undecided on them. Initially I thought removing them would be the FIRST thing I did, however, I think I'm going to give them a chance now. I'd love to buy a Raptor, but I'm not going to be one of the geniuses paying MSRP +++ when they first come out. If the price chills out on them, count me in on one.

Since I've only seen pictures of them, I too will wait to see them in person and make my decision. If it's over the top bling, off they come. I only hope they are just stuck on....

I'm not considering this as a first edition, because the only things new are the interior leather and the 22" wheels (and maybe some suspension to accommodate the 22s?). The rest of the items are primarily options on other models that are standard on this one.
The truck is for my wife, so she might like the letter bling on the hood. To me it sort of reminds me of late 60s Fords that had lettering on the front of the hood. What I like least is what you mention, the tailgate. I'm not even sure what Ford had in mind with that. I'm getting the triple coat white, so maybe it will be a little less noticeable than if the truck was a darker color. The other reason that I'm getting the triple coat white is that I have a sports car and the triple coat paint option was much more expensive (5 figures) so I couldn't pass up a bargain with Ford's price!

The hood letters can also easily be covered up with a hood deflector.....
