Retired and loving it!
Payload and towing ratings were significantly increased!
The base 3.5-liter V-6 engine makes 283 hp and 255 lb-ft of torque, and boasts a maximum payload rating of 1910 pounds and a maximum tow rating of 7600 pounds. Next up is the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 (325 hp and 375 lb-ft) which can haul up to 2250 pounds and tow as much as 8500 pounds. The naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 (385 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque) is more than capable as well, hauling as much as 3300 pounds and towing up to 11,100 pounds. At the top of the pack is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 (365 hp and 420 lb-ft), which offers a class-best 3180-lb max payload and 12,200-lb max tow rating.

So I've seen a few different posts about the max tow and payload ratings that have been announced for the 2015, but has Ford released a spreadsheet that shows the ratings for different cab configurations? Seeing as the numbers listed are for 4x2 regular cabs I want to know what payload and tow ratings are looking like for a crew cab 2.7 ecoboost with the 2.7 payload package! I wish the build and price would tell you things like that...

Maximum tow rating are mostly marketing hype, even now that they are based SAE standards. Payload is of course a far more important number than is tow rating as that limitation will always be reached long before the maximum tow rating.
Until you have figures for individual trim levels and cab and bed configurations all you have is a very rough guideline. A salesman has told me the Maximum tow package will indeed increase GCWR, he just doesn't know by how much because Ford hasn't told anyone those numbers yet. In 2014 it increased it from 15,500 to 17,100 Lbs.

I think the new numbers show that the numbers or the '11-'14 trucks are pretty close to what they would have been with the testing. 5.0 went up a by more than the weight savings as did the EB.

There was a fairly big story a couple of months ago about how Ford and GM tend to "manipulate" their figures by removing certain items from a truck before weighing them. Only surprise to me was that Ram did not do these tricks. Here's one link:
