I have done a lot of reading on this whole mess. I know ver 3 is in the 2016 and I have read that currently Ford does not plan on upgrades b/c the systems are soooooo different.

I figured I would just post and ask if anyone else out there has any info.

Personally I am pissed that Ford introduces a brand new model and then makes a change this significant in year 2. I am a technology guy. If the upgrade is $2000 then tell me and let me decide if I want to pay it or not.....ugh

Ford reps here who specialize in this area have already said, no, you cannot upgrade.

I read the screen is different as well as other components. However given that the 2016 is not a complete redesign of the 2015, I cant believe they dont offer some kind of upgrade even if it is expensive. 1-2k.... Let us decide if we want to pay it.

I am actually more upset that they would do such a major revision to a vehicle then change out the biggest part of the truck as far driver interaction goes (IMO) in the very next year. To me its actually more frustrating then the damn AC seats....

Well imagine how I feel in my 13 with the poor performing Ac that they programmed for fuel economy and not comfort. Then went back to normal in the 15's.

Its all a racket to make you upgrade. Not to mention the non-repairable clad wheels!

Are the clad wheels the ones that are kind of plastic that scrap all to **** when you rub a curb?

I think my wife's 2013 Edge Limited has them...

Exactly, we have the same car! Wife RR 2 so we bought a set of aftermarket wheels for the cost of one ford!

Nobody around here knows anything other than what you've read elsewhere. Maybe once models with Sync 3 start floating around and the electronics hackers out there get to working on it there will be more info, or a hope of some upgrade. But until then the official word is "no".

The vendor I bought from on ebay turned out to be an a hole, here is the wheel from another vendor. They look great on the car, Edge.

As I recall, we paid about 850 delivered for the set. 3 arrived damaged, even though they were double boxed.

The Ford reps on the forums has stated quite clearly that if we scream loud enough its possible. So get your torches and pitchforks if you really want it. When I saw this I said ... right, CSM's with no real info or *****.
