2015 Platinum New on Friday Sound System Sucks ?
I just picked up a 2015 Platinum on Friday Night. After spending a little time with it I have come to the conclusion that the sound system is terrible. I played with what setting I can find and nothing helps. The sound is nothing like it was in my 2012 Platinum. The bass is poor and the sound seems like it is all coming from the left door speaker. It has no quality to it. Anyone else notice this? I am not at all happy with this system. It is 10 steps backward from the 2012 truck.
Are there any other controls for it other then the few offered in settings?
Being a Platinum It has the top of the line Sony 10 Speaker System.

Most of it has to do with the source of the audio. Every station on XM is a compressed digital signal..except for two of the classic rock stations because they are played through vinyl(or used to be). FM sucks for self explanitory reasons, and your usb source is a compressed file and mot likely of marginal bit rate. Only exception is a CD, my Soundgarden cd, purchased in 1996, sounds light years (or mach speed maybe - see what i did there) better than all of my other respurces.

Xm is crap sound. I play my own audio 320 bit rate and FLAC files and it sounds amazing. More crisp than my last platinum
Get some FLAC files playing and come back and report to this thread

I have played with the settings I can find and they improve nothing. I tried the same CD I used in my old 2012 and the difference is amazing. The old truck was SOOOO Much better. I hope there is a fix because for this amount of money I am so disappointed in the sound that I will looking for other options. I was also unhappy to see I can no longer store music on the truck, but this is due to the commie music industry so I will have to work around that.

I test drove both the new F150 Lariat, and the Ram 1500 Sport with the Alpine system. I was very displeased with both. Neither seemed to have very good sound.....nothing like you used to be able to get from the higher end aftermarket stuff that used to be easy to swap in. My brother had a Dodge Stealth years ago, put an Alpine stereo and EQ in, was amazing. Stereos in cars these days suck...

I have the Sony 10-speaker in my 2014 Platinum and Satellite (Sirius) sounds terrible, as does most FM stations. Pandora is a notch better, while playing from my iTunes sounds the best.
Agree with others; the source is critical to sound quality.
