After looking into the caulk type today, it seems silicon is a big no no. I'm leaning towards this if I do end up adding caulk...thoughts?

That first one looks good for the leak around the third brake light on the cab.

I'm getting a promotion in April. I was thinking about getting a new truck. Even though I would never get a moonroof, I am thinking twice about buying a new Ford after reading this thread.
LOL, I had a 2014 Ram Laramie. You should head over to ramforumz.com and read all about the water leaks and damage from the leaking 3rd brake light.

Exclamation 2016 moon roof leaks

Yesterday I went to the dealer thinking of buying the truck I'd been waiting for. I did plenty of research on the vehicle before buying and had heard about the potential leaks through the moon roof. So when I got there that's the first thing I had them do was spray a hose over it as I sat inside. About 3-4 minutes in water was dripping at a fast pace through a couple different areas. Both sides by the rail where everyone else had noticed. And then started falling though the area where the buttons are for the moon roof as well as the area on the passenger front where they can place their hand at the top on that assist grip handle deal. I said nope not buying this truck. They were speechless. I hope this helps people. It's beautiful, but no one wants to deal with that. Very disappointing, but I'll just go with the hard top.

Sorry forgot to mention. Truck came from Kansas City plant and I'm out of British Columbia Canada.

Has anyone had any damage done to their trucks related to the leaks such as a headliner, electrical issue, etc.? While I agree it sucks that our moonroofs leak water it. It seems like they are always leaking into the drain channel and not causing any damage unless the drain hole is plugged.

I can't believe the amount of people just saying get over it. This is a $45,000+ purchase. Would you purchase your house if you knew everytime it rained out your indoors would get flooded? To say just because its a Ford its acceptable is comical. I swear some people in this thread don't live in reality.

I've never had any issues with any F150 Moon roofs I've ever owned.

So far yes Ive had good luck with my 2016. It was making those creaking popping noises when hitting a bump or going over uneven surfaces. But I cleaned all the outer seals with alcohol and applied the spray can silicone to all of the rubber seals all the way around. Havent had any noises come back after that. But outside of that, I will say when its heavily raining outside, I noticed it does leak. But it all goes right into that drain channel and out the drain hole. So Ive never had any problems as far as damage from the leaking. Thats why I was wondering if even though these are leaking, like a lot are saying, if someone has had any damage yet due to it. Would be curious to see the numbers of people who have had leaks and damage and just leaks that are going right to the channel and out the drain. I by no means am saying I like that its leaking in the drains by the way.

Hard rain then I see water go in the drain channels. I never had any damage or a drop of rain land on the seats or switches. So its working as it should for me.
I never had any creaking or popping noise from it.
