Hello,

Any of you have a 2015 Lariat with the 501A package (NOT 502A) with the non-sony upgraded radio? Does the radio that comes with the truck have HD radio functions or not?

I am working on ordering a new truck, and wondering if I should upgrade to the Sony radio. The local dealer didn't have any 501A's on the lot, so I couldn't find out myself.

I looked in the manual for the truck, which isn't very clear.

I like listening to some of the sub-channels available via HD radio. Although, I am not sure I want to spend the extra money for the Sony system.

2 weeks ago purchased a lariat 501a without the sony system. It does NOT come with HD radio or navigation.
Saw a few with navigation added on from the factory, but still didn't have HD.

Nav wasn't a real need for me, I live in Fort Worth, and with all the construction that's going on- that thing isn't very accurate.

HD radio is nice, but didn't want to spend the additional 6-7k for the 502a.

My lariat 501a does not have HD radio. I'm pretty sure you'll need the Sony upgrade to get that.

My lariat 501a doesn't have HD radio, but does have Nav.

Do you know how good the coverage is in your area? I have the Sony upgrade on my 501a and am contemplating turning off the HD Radio. It seems to cut in and out so much switching back and forth it starts to get annoying. There is an obvious difference in quality, but the service is patchy. I'm relatively close to a large city so I would think I'd get decent signal(maybe not, I don't know much about HD Radio to be honest.) I do know I like the sound of the Sony stereo with sub better than non Sony, but that's just my opinion and what made it worth it for me.

Does your 501A have HD? Can you tell me the model number of your ACM? (eject and arrow right on CD buttons). I found a FL3T-19C107-JA thru JG that says it has HD that came out of a 501A.
