2015 F150 Duratrac tires question
I have the 2015 2.7 XLT that came with highway tires. I am looking at changing them for AT tires. I live in Colorado and ski in winter, so I wanted good tires for the snow days we get here and to replace the X-Ice 3 tires I had on my Subaru. I do 95% on road and 5% trail, dirt roads that may be snowed in at times. I am leaning to the Duratracs (they look amazing) and the General Grabber AT2, both of which have the mountain snow flake rating. I staying with the stock size 275/65/18.
My question is, how much increased noise will I pick up with the Duratrac vs the Highway tire? I expect that the Duratrac will be noisy, the 2015 F150 is a quiet truck, how much noise do you think will they add?

I went from the Goodyear Fortitudes to 275/65R18's Duratraks, then I went to a 20" wheel. Stayed with Duratraks again so I am running 285/60R20's. You will absolutely hear them compared to the Stockers and feel the difference. But it is not bad and by day 2, you will forget it. Big difference is they are lighter than most if not all other tires in their category, so you won't take a huge hit to the mileage.

when i had the Duratracs on my 2005 F250 they were actually pretty quiet for being an AT tread tire. good traction (although i never used them in snow) , good looks, little road noise. the only issue i had with them, others have had this issue too, is they got very difficult to balance. i don't know if they just wear weird or i got a defective set. my alignment was always spot on too.

I just put them on a 2015 F150 and am happy with them. Only have around 200 miles on them so far. They are slightly louder then the stock goodyears that are basically car tires so that is to be expected. They ride nice etc.
I had them also on a 2006 Chevy 2500 Duramax and at that time I noticed that for the first 1000 miles they felt squirmy but that went away. I also felt they were a louder tire then today. I don't notice this on the F150. The duratrac has been updated since then so I imagine that is what is better now then in the past but I also imagine the F150 being a little lighter than the 3/4 ton and having a more quiet interior helps. I will say this they are much more quiet then any mud tire I have had.
I currently live in Chicago area and with my duramax truck they were awesome in snow and mud! Probably the best over all tire I have had in 20 years of 4x4 trucks.
I really kicked around K02 but the weight savings and slightly cheaper made the duratrac a better choice. I would buy again.

Before I had 30 miles on my truck I got rid of the stock GY SRA crap tires and went to the Duratracs. I do not notice any road noise from the tires at all. I drive with the windows down on the highway around 30 miles each way to and from work. When the tires on my wifes Wrangler wear out I will replace them with the Duratracs also. Best on off road tire I have every had before I got the F150 I had an FJ cruiser with them and it was night and day difference in the snow here in OH. I was told if you go to the GY dealer before you have 500 miles on the OEM tires they will give you a really good trade in value towards the Duratracs. At least here in OH.

Looking at tire rack tire specs they show the 275 65 20 size Duratrac and KO2 the same weight. 57lbs.
Where are you all showing that the Duratrac tire is less weight?

I've read really polsitive reviews about the ko2 for winter driving, something about that being the only all season with a proper winter rating? Another thing I've noticed is tires are soft when they are new and tend to be fairly quiet, after they've got 10 or 20k on them they can harden up and that's when the louder hum comes in
