Default 2015 F150 2.7l Ecoboost Clicking Noise Passenger Side

Just got myself an F150 and hoping someone can give me some input.

Got this truck about a week ago and super happy with it so far (besides the mouse crap all over the engine and a few chewed parts I found when I got it home.) Also noticed that an ac line was totally kinked which the dealer has ordered to replace. http://imgur.com/ziygQot

The question I have for you guys is this: Driving down the road anywhere from 40km/h to 70km/h there is a clicking sound coming from the passenger front side of the engine. Honestly it sounds like a rock in the tire but there isn't one. (I checked, no rock, no screw, no nail) The sound changes with the speed of the vehicle but not the engine RPM. Rolling down the passenger window you can not hear it any better, actually less. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned about but I'm trying to set my mind at ease as we traded in a 2014 ford focus for this truck, which spent more time in the shop than I did driving it due to various issues.

Not sure if this info matters but it makes the same sound regardless of whether 4x4 is engaged or disengaged.

I have noticed the same sound with my truck but I never really knew how to describe it. I'm interested to know what it is also and if it's anything to be concerned about.

Does the vehicle have to be moving in order to make the noise or will it do it at idle?

Has to be moving. Minimum of 25km/h you start to faintly hear it.

When they book service to replace the ac line I think I will have them look into it...

I think the noise you are hearing is coming from the transfer case. I have had it on my truck since new and there is a thread on here that discusses many other people with same noise. Starts around 30MPH and can be heard up to 50 MPH or so then road noise and wind drown it out.

If i am not mistaken one gentleman recently had his transfer case repaired where they put in a new planetary gear which fixed the issue. I am waiting for Ford to get a better handle on this problem before i take mine in for repairs.

Good luck

Perfect. That's certainly an annoyance and the guys at Ford should weed out whatever in the front end is doing it quickly. That's what warranty is for.
