2014 vs 2015
So I'm on the fence whether to get a '14 or '15, I'm not impressed with base stereo in my '12 XLT, is the 2015 base stereo on the XLT's better than the last model trucks was??
Headlights, my '12 XLT never impressed me to much in that department, how are the '15 XLT headlights compared the the previous models for seeing good at night?
what else have those of you that came from the last body style found that you really like more on the '15 model year??
thanks!

I came from a 2010 GMC Yukon XL 2500 4x4 so I can't answer all your questions.
I can tell you the LED headlights are the best headlights I've had on any vehicle including the ones with HID's.

I came from a 2012 XLT. I can tell you the 2015 stock stereo is leaps and bounds over the 2012 IMHO. Headlights seem about on par with the 2012.
I pretty much like everything about the 2015 more than the 2012, mainly because it has a ton more options and a different engine than my old one.

I'd be scooping up a very well equipped 2014 with all the bells and whistles and the very attractive rebates and discounts...and with HIDs which as far as I'm concerned, give very good lighting.
But, if you want the pretty LEDs, buy a 2015.

On an XLT the differences will much less then on the High end trucks. The LED lights are worth an upgrade in my opinion. As time passes the prices will come down on both 2014s and 2015s. You may be able to get a very nice 2014 for a great price as compared to a 2015. There are still a lot left out there.

I like the steering improvements over the 2012-2014. The electric steering feels more natural more like my old 2010 with hydraulic steering but my big tires don't feel nearly as heavy.
The dash computer you get with Sync 2 has off road gauges among other new features.
MY LED's are amazing but equally amazing is the spot lights you get around the truck with the QUAD LED option especially the back spot light when in reverse.
The twin panel sunroof is amazing, its like a green house in my truck.
I think I ended up paying $15k more than a similar equipped 2014 ($25k more than a 2013) I feel like I'm winning.

Why then does everyone not buy a brand new 2015 fully loaded Platinum?
Because not everyone can afford it.
As such, some can have their cake and eat it too by buying a well equipped 2014 for much less than a 2015.
To pay all that extra money for LED lights? only if they mean that much to you.

The previous gen was and is, a fine truck, but the 15 is just better in just about every conceivable way, from the visibility outward to even the way the turn signals and controls work all the way to the dynamics of driving, it's definitely a step forward. It will depend on $ available and your needs ultimately. Good luck in your decision!
