Default 2.7L EB Towing

Loaded up one of my tractors and went towing today to see what it would do. I am impressed.

Trailer is 1,100 lbs, Cub is 1,877 lbs and the disc on it 300 lbs.

Pulling the Cub at 70mph down I10 east cruise control on.

Glad to hear. Better towing than your previous truck?

That towing mileage does look pretty good...maybe 16mpg from your instant read out? Granted it's not that heavy of a load, but still impressive!

How was the power delivery when towing? Did it hunt gears at all?

I'l went right through them. Smooth as silk. That's about he heaviest I'll ever pull with that truck so I think I'm good to go for a long time.

I had a 2500HD 6.2L gasser before so I can't really compare the two in the same category.

And that is exactly why Ford developed this motor. 50-75% of individuals dont tow large weights and dont tow regularly-which makes the 2.7 a great choice for them.

I just with the 4wd mileage was a little better since I wount be buying a 2wd truck.

you need at least a 350 DRW for that, you crazy fool !
how do you expect this tiny 2.7L engine to tow anything???? It can barely move the truck on its own...

What gear ratio do you have and is it 4x2?
