2.7 Tuned Trucks Feedback

I've had my 2.7 tuned by Torrie from unleashed since day one. I can tell a definite improvement over stock. The truck isn't slow to begin with, mine seems makes more power down low, has plenty of grunt at high speeds if I need it. I also like the fact that he was able to disable my auto start-stop feature with the tune. I probably would have paid $500 just for that option alone.
I'm not out racing or beating on my truck, I currently have over 20k tuned miles on my truck and I've not had one mechanical hiccup. I would recommend you doing a lot of research before you buy a tune. Torrie tuned my ecoboost mustang, so I was familiar with his work, and I already had the tuner available.
best of luck

Most of what I've read so far on this forum has been about 5* and results seem pretty mixed.

In the end each has their qualities so it depends what you want. All out performance, small gains but good shift strategy when towing, hand holding customer service , etc. depending on who you choose you can have mild gains to amazing gains that seem like you bolted on an extra turbo..

I got the 5* 93 oct tune and was not that happy with it so I'm just using the canned tunes from SCT and they definitely help. Clears up the turbo lag from stop/start and overall just faster... seat of the pants likes it..

I've found that for canned tunes, sct does a pretty good job

Thanks for the additional info guys.
In all honesty, I was pretty happy with normal Sport mode for the additional performance. Once I went up a size in tires, however, that low-end snap was impacted and it noticeably feels flatter/slower now.
I would also be happy to see better response in shifting - At times there is a lag in downshifting when trying to make a quick pass or Lane change.
Anyway, thanks again - Will report back any details if I decide to pull the trigger.

I went with five-star strictly because of the warranty option and peace of mind whenever I get some extra time and money I will be throwing my truck on the Dino to make sure they do live up to what they advertise. I do feel the truck feels a good bit better but the tune doesn't leave a lot to be desired so we shall see

Oh yeah!
Now I have my 2.7L back from tuning @ MPT. Mike and the guys did a great job. You can really feel the difference. Currently running the 93 octane performance tow tune. As you can see by the dyno sheet it is an increase of 94.5 rwhp (388.1 rwhp) over the stock tune (293.6 rwhp). Torque increase is 95.7 (ft-lbs) over stock. If I decide to load the PRX tune horse power would be 394.4 rwhp, torque 438.8 (ft-lbs). Almost 400 rwhp from the little 2.7L. Only mod to the truck is an MBRP 3" SS cat back with the MBRP resonator.
Thanks again to all the guys at MPT Performance!

Less experience with results from diff tuners on this engine. There are threads showing 5 star and mpt showing little to no gains over stock or a canned tune. I don't know dyno numbers but another tuner has a 2.7 with only a tune running 12.4 at 108.xx. So there is power to be had for sure.
