Dropping my 2015 Lariat 2.7L off at the local tuner tomorrow. This is a well known tuner. They have only tuned a few 2.7L and are using mine for more testing and refining the tunes. Going for 93 octane street/tow tune. I will report back on how it all goes. Leaving the truck with them for a few days.

Less experience with results from diff tuners on this engine. There are threads showing 5 star and mpt showing little to no gains over stock or a canned tune.

I don't know dyno numbers but another tuner has a 2.7 with only a tune running 12.4 at 108.xx. So there is power to be had for sure.

I thought that decent gains were to be had with tunes on the 2.7?? Just not as impressive as the 3.5's.

Tuned my 2.7 with 5 star. It's been alright so far. Leaves more to be desired but a noticeable improvement over stock. Running the 93 per only tune the gas mileage is terrible . Eventually one day I will be doing some personal testing on dyno numbers and track numbers over stock.

Anyone else out there who has tuned their 2.7 and cares to share any feedback? Would you recommend it?

I've been giving it a little more thought since installing larger tires to gain back the slight performance hit. However, I have no previous experience running a tune and finding it to be a hard time filtering through the various contradictory opinions on the topic.

Any insight from others would be appreciated.

I've had my 2.7 tuned by Torrie from unleashed since day one. I can tell a definite improvement over stock. The truck isn't slow to begin with, mine seems makes more power down low, has plenty of grunt at high speeds if I need it. I also like the fact that he was able to disable my auto start-stop feature with the tune. I probably would have paid $500 just for that option alone.

I'm not out racing or beating on my truck, I currently have over 20k tuned miles on my truck and I've not had one mechanical hiccup. I would recommend you doing a lot of research before you buy a tune. Torrie tuned my ecoboost mustang, so I was familiar with his work, and I already had the tuner available.

best of luck
