2.7 mpg/performance

Um the missing 3 gallons could have been mostly on the top you know. There is ALOT of room left over after the pump 'clicks'

Not sure I follow your logic, if it clicked too soon that would only make the truck gauge more inaccurate as I would have filled even more. In both tanks I filled to the click and stopped. These two fill ups were at different locations.

Let me put it this way, I once ran my '13 down to 20 miles or about 1 gallon. I still managed to fill up 34.5 gallons by "topping off". Temps were mild so I wasn't worried about expansion and also I was awarded with '700+ miles to empty badge' :p This means there is at most 0.5 gallons of "idiot reserve" beyond when the truck says 0 miles to empty. A half a gallon sloshing around is not much protection for this large fuel system.

I can attest to that I had the new 6.2 in the 6speed and my lifetime average was 19 over 15000 miles. It blows my ecoboost away in MPG. My 14 Eco is 16.4 and still going down at 15000 miles. Same size truck and similar fears 3.42 in the GMC Denali and 3.55 in my Eco.

Okay have missed this but are guys running 33" and 35" tires on this engine? I ask because I'm looking at a new truck and I would definitely be putting on 33" tires. I'm wondering if it would kill the mpg on the 2.7 l and if it would feel sluggish.

Of course it would. Why not get the 5.0 and 3.73 then you get good mpg and can run the tires you want. Exactly what is the advantage of the 2.7EB? Looks like consumer reports will disclaim the real world mpg rating AGAIN.
