Damn, that is good for a well-equipped 302a. Both the 5.0 and 3.5tt are 7050 GVWR. The 3.5tt will be about the same payload and the 5.0L will have an extra 70 lbs since it is apparently 20 lbs lighter than the 2.7tt. Lower-level 5.0 4x4 scabs should be close to 2100 lbs!
Back then the 4x4's reduced the payload by ~ 325# ?? So similar FX4 would have been about 1700# Payload.
The 2015s do seem to be coming in with 200-300# more payload. Nice.
As for the low level 5L SCabs you are right on:

brulaz - dang that was a good guess - both showcases are mine!
4x4 doesn't take much of a hit to payload since it usually has a bit higher GVWR for some reason.
As a point of reference, my 2013 201a 5.0 4x4 had a yellow sticker of 1695 lbs. This similarly equipped truck (except 17" instead of 18" wheels on mine) is at 2108 lbs. That is a full 400 lb increase! Combine that with the drop from 7350 to 7050 GVWR and you are right at 700 lb weight savings.
Seriously, 2108 lbs rivals the actual payload of some of the HD trucks of the previous generation, all without hitting a RAWR like the 7700 GVWR max tow trucks such as yours. Definitely 5th wheel capable. Not bad all!
The 700 lb weight savings is legit and is probably even higher on the 157"/163" trucks. A lot of high trim versions see considerably less since Ford's new sun roof weighs 500 lbs. (exaggerating) It will be crazy to see how much payload the 7850 GVWR HD trucks have. I'm thinking up to 2850 lbs (edit) actual payloads for those guys!

But the Source Book also lists the 18" HD 6 lug wheels as having only 2101# rating, which doesn't add up. Hopefully that's just a typo. The old 7 lug wheels had a 2400# rating.

Looks like really good MPG. What configuration truck do you have? Crew? What rear end?
Have you thought about putting this on fuelly.com?
Thanks for the info.

Just competed a run to one of my facilities, from 3,000 feet to 7,000 feet and back, some very slow sections (switchbacks) and moderately fast sections (70 mph), it was about 40 degrees F and light snow. I averaged 20.1 MPG over 150 miles.
My previous truck, 2011 2WD F-150 Supercrew w/5.0, would pull about 16 mpg. So I am pleased to now have four-wheel drive, more low-end torque and 4 more mpg. I only have a few hundred miles on the truck, so hopefully mileage will improve as 1) the engine breaks-in and 2) we move away from winter gasoline.
