They inspect the glove compartment hinge pins and hooks. If both were installed properly, they replace the glove box.

my Lariat glove compartment has a 1/2 " gap on the right side vs. being fairly flush on left side. that being said: nothing rattles in my truck (no squeaks, no rattles at all in the first 600 miles now). ... so the glove compartment is really no big deal to me. it's a truck and not a $60k+ Land Rover / BMW X5 or Porsche SUV

Wife had the same issues. It was missed when we looked it over first. Dealer fixed it.

Same issue, lowered the glove box and when I did on the right side a "track" piece came out and I could not figure how to put it back in. However without this piece the glove box fully closes easily without any force. Left the "track" piece in the glove box in case I figured out what it was for or needed it.

I called the dealership where I bought the truck, told the sales person about my problem, he said he would call me back, haven't heard from him yet. I going to wait couple of days, and see what happens.

went to the dealership today, have an appointment on Friday to get this fixed. The service guy said they will take the glove box apart and make sure everything is installed correctly, apparently something could have been installed backwards at the plant. once everything is put back together the way it should be, then they will see if it works out if not I guess they will install a new glove door. will keep you posted.

update - So today I had an appointment to take my truck in for the glove box repair. I was there at 8:45 am as the appointment was booked for. The service guy asked if I was waiting, I asked how long it was going to be and he said about 1 hr depending on what was needed to fix the glove door. well after about 45 mins of waiting and my Truck still in the same spot as I left it I asked the service guy if he could give me a ride home. He said sure, but after waiting an additional 15 mins waiting for this jackass to give me a ride, I see him going out to my truck with a camera and proceeds to take pics of the truck and the glove box. I thinking what the hell is this guy doing ? He comes inside to where I'm sitting and hands me the keys and says, I have to send these pictures to Ford and wait for conformation before we can go ahead and order the parts to fix the glove box ? I told him why, he then said Ford knows about the issue but tells me that they have been informed not to fix anything without approval. He then said he would call me back after conformation/approval from Ford to set up a new date to get it fixed ! I told the guy what I thought about that and also told him he wasted my time going there and nothing got resolved !! I also told him that if that was the case, then why didn't he take pics of the glove box on Wed when I was there instead of making an appointment for 2 days later making me believe that it would get fixed for nothing ! I am very Frustrated and disappointed, this is my very first ford vehicle ever and so far, a very bad first experience with service after the sale ! I don't see why the hell Ford would want to see pics of something they know is/was an issue. I forget who posted the TBS for this but thanks. When I first went there on Wed, I had printed it off to so them I knew this was a problem so they couldn't deny it. Now who knows how long I will have to wait to hear back from Ford ??? what you guys think ?

I understand your pain. One dealer that I go to thinks I have all the time in the world. Just thinks I can bring my truck in anytime for them. All brands have issues, so do the dealers, have to find one that will word with you. Its a pain though. Good luck.
