I was set to get a 15 but with the 14 rebates and the dealer wanting to get rid of them made more sense to me to get the 14. I also don't like to get a first year vehicle so it will all work out down the road.

I was the same if I was willing to wait for a 16 I would have waited but I needed it sooner so I went for a 14.

Engine and tranny same. Only cosmetic stuff and different metal in parts. Of course more options. But many carry overs.

I was hoping the 14 would get the 3.5NA toward the tail end of production ! I would have hopped on a couple for the fleet earlier than mid year 15's. I'm still considering the 2, "14's," if they continue to deal better incentives.

Something I noticed from the order sheets for the 15's that might be a hint to the fuel economy bump- they are offering a 33 gal fuel tank, down from the 36 for the 14' - basic math shows the cruising distance of a '14 to be 684mi. - if you adjust for the smaller tank in order to have the same (or better?) cruising distance the minimum mpg's would end up around 20.7. I couldn't see ford cutting the cruising distance any on their new baby and if they did I'm betting they would have been more drastic to help their weight reduction claims. Food for thought at the very least- I'm waiting to decide between the 14 and 15 for the official fuel numbers so I don't end up regretting my decision every time the tank gets low.

This is my exact situation as well. Going to drive both this Saturday and decide whether it's worth it to wait for the '15 or get a '14 RAM or FX4. The RAM seems to have way better deals though for the same options.

I think Ford rebates expire on Sept 2. I am hoping they increase the new rebates because I am deciding on a 14/15 also. One dealership I talked to told me that his boss is worried about having low inventory at the end of the year. He was trying to get me to purchase now. Not sure if I believe him.

I don't believe the rebates will drop. They need to make as much cash as possible on current inventory mainly because they'll be down 90,000 units next year with plant change overs. They don't want to sell out of vehicles and lay extra cash on the hood during this transition. They expect to lose the sales crown, but profit per truck will be up and limit the $$ damage. Not until both plants are making 15's will we see an incentive increase on the 14's. This is obviously my opinion, we'll see what happens.

When I bought my 2014 a few weeks ago, I had multiple dealers tell me they expect inventory to drop this fall.

Could they have told you that to promote buy a 14 now?
