Plastidip is very durable. Its achilles heel is edges. If it gets peeled up it's virtually over as it will get worse.

It will not fade as long as it's got some uv protection, just like anything else. The Ultima will protect it (or any trim) from uv rays.

Also, you can use spray wax on the dip to take away the grabby/rubbery feel and that will also help with uv. You just have to apply it periodically.

I think when it does fade, I'll remove it and by then hopefully have a full set of wrenches where I can remove more parts and paint them properly. The truck is pretty scratched up so in many years it will need all new paint anyhow.
