Paint is very very fragile

Honestly out of all my 19 vehicles I've owned I've found my Fords got chips much easier then any others. I got a decent size chip in the front just above my license plate holder on the way home from the stealership! But alas it's just a part of driving and can't be avoided. The 3m plastic stuff does help a good bit but is not perfect as larger stones can tear through and still dent the paintwork/body and they are only good for so long until it needs pulled off from gunk getting under it.
I'm still bummed that my new truck I got last week came with 2 dings from the manufacture. The stealership I bought it from is too far away for me to get it repaired there as it's my daily driver, but I'm hoping my local PDR guy can fix it up next week.

2016 F150, paint chips very easily
I am very happy with my month-old truck except for one small detail; the paint is very fragile! I've seen a few chips already and I can tell this is going to be a problem. I'd like to hear from others with newish F150's and what they did to stop the chipping.
This problem seems to be common in the 2015 and 2016 model years, and I'm wondering if anybody has approached a lawyer about a class action? Not that I want that, but I think Ford dropped the ball here. Are there any lawyers on the list? Feel free to message me privately.

Quick Google search... Shows these "paint is fragile" threads on many other forums
If you have a "sport " package truck, and the grille is the one chipping, then yes there is a legit problem there. Many on here have that problem, with no chips to the surrounding sheet metal. And have had them warrantied

Do you know what the Ford warranty is for paint defects? I have seen at least half a dozen posts on sites about new F150's with chipped paint (body panels, not the grill; my grill is chromed). Either my truck was painted incorrectly or there is a larger problem that needs to be addressed.

Chips are not paint defects like nibs, or bubbles, or solvent pop, or even delamination. They are damage from outside elements.
I suggest a clear bra

Thanks for the details. As I suspected, they will probably say I did it or it was road debris that did it.
Does anybody have recommendations for paint protection film or overcoat to supplement the paint protection?

You should be very happy you don't own a Toyota.
