Absolutely. Bulldog is approved for plastic. And the same steps will work. I use different products at my work, because of PPG warranty. So I have to do it a little different there, the process is basically the same.

just gonna bring this thread back from the dead.

I'm in the planning process of painting my grill. the tips on here will help tremendously with the job.

if i understand it correctly, the steps to paint a chrome grill is:

1) sand and clean
2) adhesion promoter (2 coats?)
3) epoxy primer (2-3 coats?)

at this point, can I wet sand the primer to help eliminate any chance of orange peel? would it even help?

4) base coat (2-3 coats)
5) clear coat (2-3 coats)

could I wet sand the clear after just to ensure that I have no orange peel then respray it again with clear to get the gloss back?

I will be doing this at home with rattle cans (not ideal, i know) so i am willing to do a lot work to make it look good.

am I on the right track or am I missing some steps?

The key is in the prep work and thin coats. Better to use 5 thin coats if needed vs 1 blast of heavy paint. And yes a light wet sand or 00 steel wool between coats will help with a glossy finish. Be aware that if you go glossy and have any flaw in the prep it will show through.

i would rather keep the bumpers chrome to prevent rust and chips but plasti dip would be the way to go to still keep the protection
