Automatic running board cover

Automatic running board cover
Have 2010 Expedition King Ranch and my drivers side running board lower cover has started to pull down from the running board.
It got caught on one of the blue rags from the car wash spinner and can't get it pop back securley. Of course Ford says I need to replace the entire running board for 2000.00 dollars when it is a 25.00 piece of formed aluminum that has been tweaked. Can that piece be purchased seperately or any ideas on how to fix it. Thanks in advance for any info.
