I have a 2014 f150 only 6500 miles on it xlt chrome appearance package. There is a rust spot starting on the rear bumper already. Just wondered if anyone has any advice on what I should do about this it makes me sick that this is happening already

Do you think I should bother talking to my dealer see if they will fix it or will they laugh at me I think the paint is defective and it's only going to get worse.

Take it in. It looks like just surface rust. 0000 steel wool should clean it up, then you can see where it comes from. Hole or a blister. They would probably just replace that piece. Rear bumper is 3 pieces. Plastic textured step, then the 2 corner pieces, either chrome or painted

I contacted my dealer sent them pictures they want me to bring it in so they can ask for warranty

Well took it to the dealership and they did a warranty request and it was DENIED. They used rust removal and it took it off and chrome polished it and it looks ok. I think it will probably come back though.

The bumper has lines on it like it like scratches or something you can see it in the attached picture from before they cleaned it. Would have been nice if they just put a new bumper section on it for a 42,000 truck this should not be happening and I really don't think this is the end of this problem.

My running boards start to look like that after winter. As mentioned above, 0000 steel wool cleans them right up.
